Virtual Drummer is a drum machine built on top of the built in functionality of Quicktime 2.0. This is its first beta release, and as a result, it has not been thoroughly tested and may be unstable. I have had very few problems with it, but please proceed with caution.
Instructions:
To add a ﾔbeatﾕ to the song, simply click at the appriate box on the ﾔgraphﾕ. This will place a beat at that spot in the measure. You can set the tempo in the tempo box at the top of the window. Clicking on an existing beat removes it.
To hear what a drum sounds like, click on its name.
To copy a measure, move the cursor to the ruler above that measure. Click and drag that measure to another measure and release the mouse button. All the beats will be copied to the new measure. Note: doing this does not remove the notes that we already in the measure that you drop onto. This allows you to copy portions of beats to other measures, while still keeping some of the fills you may have already created.
To play a song, select play song from the song menu.
There are zoom boxes at the bottom of the window. This allows you to increase the number of divisions you can see for each measure. When you open a new window, the deafult is eight. Clicking on the zoom-in button allows you to place more notes in that measure. There is also a button that allows you to select the number of divisions in a measure. This is not implemented in version 1.0b1. Look for it soon. If you zoom out, you will notice that often two notes become one. The notes havenﾕt dissapeared. Virtual Drummer shows you if there is a beat in that section of the measure. There may be more than one, and the beat might not start at that exact division. Deleting a beat removes all beats in that section.

Known Problems:
･ Divisions per measure button not implemented
･ Some drums donﾕt sound. This is a problem with the QuickTime Musical Instruments file. Iﾕm trying to get help from Apple. There are replacement files available from some conpanies, but are often very expensive. Iﾕll see what I can do.
